List of Award Presented on 75th Republic Day of India
During a somber event commemorating the 75th Republic Day of India, the country honors the bravery and dedication of its courageous soldiers in all branches of the armed forces. 1,132 members of the Police, Fire Service, Home Guard, Civil Defense, and Correctional Service have been recognized for their outstanding accomplishments by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). These individuals have been awarded Service Medals and Gallantry Medals for their outstanding efforts.
How Many Personnels have been Awarded on Republic Day 2024?
On January 25, 2024, the Ministry of Home Affairs declared that 1132 members of the police, fire service, home guard, civil defense, and correctional services had received gallantry and service medals in observance of Republic Day.
Rationalization of Awards
The sixteen gallantry and service medals have been combined into four unique categories by the government, which has reorganized and simplified the award ecosystem: PMG (President’s Medal for Gallantry), GM (Medal for Gallantry), PSM (President’s Medal for Distinguished Service), and MSM (Medal for Meritorious Service). Pradhan Mantri Rahstriya Bal Puraskar 2024
Children aged 5 to 18 are eligible to apply for the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar (PMRBP) 2024, which honours extraordinary achievement in seven different categories. The President will celebrate youthful talents at the ceremony, which will take place at Vigyan Bhawan on January 22, 2024, with 19 recipients selected nationwide. On January 23, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will meet with the recipients. On January 26, 2024, they will march in the Republic Day parade.
Jeevan Raksha Padak Series of Awards
The President of India has approved the Jeevan Raksha Padak Series of Awards for 2023, which recognize 31 people for their heroic deeds of life-saving courage. Sarvottam Jeevan Raksha Padak, Uttam Jeevan Raksha Padak, and Jeevan Raksha Padak are the three categories into which the awards are divided. Of the beneficiaries, three are granted the Sarvottam Jeevan Raksha Padak, seven are given the Uttam Jeevan Raksha Padak, and twenty-one are given the Jeevan Raksha Padak. Remarkably, three recipients receive posthumous recognition. These honors recognize people from many origins for their admirable deeds of humanity in saving and preserving lives.
